The PTR Group is an industry-recognized expert in the development, deployment, upgrade, and training associated with embedded, real-time and distributed systems. As such we have a unique advantage in terms of understanding new product development and support for legacy product development for many leading vendors of embedded products in the U.S. and worldwide. The PTR Group provides system engineering services including software development, hardware and prototype development, consulting, and training exclusively for the needs of the embedded and real-time Federal and Commercial markets. Our staff of professionals offers over 500 years of combined experience and has extensive background in the planning, design, development, delivery, and maintenance of products using a wide variety of real-time, embedded systems technologies. The PTR Group engineer’s experience offers a unique combination of electrical engineering and software development background and more than half of our staff have 20 years experience or more.
 
The PTR Group has extensive experience with embedded Linux, VxWorks, pSOS+, VRTX, Nucleus+, QNX, eCOS, uC/OS, RMX and many other real time operating systems (RTOS). Our expertise resides in software development focused on board bring up, kernel porting, device drivers, board support packages (BSP), Linux file systems, toolchains, and SDKdevelopment. The team is well versed in networking, distributed processing and applications development. Our processor experience includes OMAP, ARM, XScale, PowerPC, MIPS, SA1110, X86 and many others. Our programming experience includes C and C++, Java SE (RMI, JDBC), Java EE (EJB, JMS, JPA, JSF), Scheme, Prolog, Delphi (Pascal) as well as web/database expertise with Apache, PHP, MySQL, HTML, Python, Perl, JNI, Javascript, Oracle, AJAX, Polyhedra, Joomla, Django and many others. The PTR Group's experience with these languages, and more, span the Solaris, UNIX, Linux, BSD, and Windows development platforms. We are also experienced in porting existing applications from standard RTOS environments to embedded Linux. The results have been excellent with a substantial reduction in long-term software costs for our customers.
